T0095-BS Test of Satellite Communications Systems on-board Suborital Platforms to provide low-cost data communications for Research Payloads, Payolad Operators, and Space Vehicle Operators

Program start date is on hold until Space Act Agreement is signed.  Placeholder date of January 2014 is used as placeholder.

This experiment will test that the Iridium sattelite network and equipment can provide data communications for research payloads.  The goal for this project in the long run is to lower the cost of 2-way air-to-ground data transmission.  The experiment will be tracking data, text messaging uplink, and text messagin, internet and voice with crewed missions.  Potential users of the technology are NASA, FAA, sRLV operators, science payload developers, and operators.
