Two different experiments will be performed. The first experiment will have the EDU FWM PFE (filled with 6 lbs. of water and 1,250 psi of nitrogen) will be discharged in 3-second intervals (one burst per parabola) inside an enclosure across the path of a laser beam of a Malvern™ Spraytec instrument in order to measure droplet size distribution (DSD) upon discharge. The second experiment will have an obstacle installed inside the enclosure to create an obstructed path from the PFE nozzle to the Malvern instrument laser beam. The PFE will be discharged for 3 s again, and the droplet size and density of the sroplet mist downstream of the obstructing plate will be measured.
