The objective of this task are to: develop nanofabrication processes compatible with high-Q optical resonators; improve optical quality factor; implement FIB engraved discs; demonstrate optomechanical measurements; publish results and write proposals.
More »The aim of this project is to develop technology towards miniature and rugged inertial sensors with low power consumption and high sensitivity. Device applications include seismometers, accelerometers and gyroscopes. This technology development could lead to a number of applications in navigation, autonomous robotics and sensor instruments, benefitting NASA aeronautics, human exploration and science research including Earth and planetary science.
