Project Description

T0098-S Navigation Doppler Lidar Sensor Demonstration for Precision Landing on Solar System Bodies

Program start date is on hold until Space Act Agreement is signed.  Placeholder date of January 2014 is used as placeholder.

This experiment will demonstrate precision navigation and landing without the use of GPS data.  The sRLV flight data will allow the design of future landing vehicles requiring precision safe landing.  This experiment will address potential interface issures and reduce the associated risk.  Potential users are Mars rover, sample return, human precursor, asteroid sample return, and robotic and manned lunar missions.
