This study proposes to develop, integrate, test, and fly a Miniature Attitude Determination System (MADS) payload onboard the Peregrine Sounding Rocket (PSR) launch vehicle. This technology, which consists of an Advanced Micro Sun Sensor (AMSS), a MEMS based Disk Resonator Gyro (DRG), a COTS 3--‐axis MEMS accelerometer (ACCL), and a COTS hybrid microcontroller (MCU), will enable a complete, high performance attitude determination sub--‐system with low mass and low cost, applicable for the PSR, micro--‐spacecraft and planetary rovers and other space missions.
